NEW PASTOR (Emmanuel Ntusi UPDATE)
22/11/09
The morning service was led by our New Pastor! The end of a long wait but the start
of a NEW CHAPTER for Underhill Baptist Church .... <to be continued>
21/11/09
The long awaited day arrived and Emmanuel (Our New Pastor) was Inducted into the
church during a wonderful and moving service attended by members of our own church,
the church/churches in which he has recently been involved and many visitors from
our own local churches. We were much encouraged and left with the feelings we had
hoped for - that this is indeed the one that our God has chosen and set aside for
us!
13/11/09
Emmanuel & Zama are settling in well and coping with us finishing off a few jobs
at the Manse for them.
Zama is able to continue with her work and Emmanuel is getting to know Church Members,
various clubs & organisations, other local church contacts etc (Oh, and he is still
unpacking boxes!)
Preparations are being made for the “Induction” on 21st November and we are expecting
about 150 people HELP!
01/11/09
Emmanuel & Zama sat in the morning service to get a feel for our church and did well
meeting and greeting people in an informal way .... Emmanuel will be spending the
first few weeks getting to know us all and visiting some of the groups. He will NOT
be leading services until November 22nd, after the Induction.
:
For those who have given their time & effort to getting the Manse ready for Emmanuel
& Zama
“Anything you do that brings pleasure to God is an act of worship. Like a diamond
it is multifaceted.”
(From “The Purpose Driven Life” by Rick Warren)

Today we finished getting the Manse ready for Emmanuel & Zama to move in at 2.00pm
- lucky for us, they were delayed quite a bit, finally arriving later in the day.
We actually finished (well not everything) about 5pm and they had still not arrived!
Bit of a set-back when we drilled through a cable and blew the downstairs electrics
but John was ok! .... We only leave outstanding - papering thew hall, stairs & landing
- touching up the outside walls where windows have been fitted - sorting the electrics
next Saturday and a few bits and bobs.
WELCOME Emmanuel & Zama, we look forward to walking together in God’s work

Emmanuel & Zama visited the Manse this morning for the first time. They were pleased
with the work and send their thanks to all the helpers. May God bless them as they
make plans for their move to Barnet on Friday 30th October.
While they were in South Africa, Emmanuel’s younger sister made a full recovery but
sadly his older sister died of TB - the funeral was after they left South Africa.
He thanks everyone for their prayers while he was away and please continue to pray
for them as they prepare to leave Chatsworth Baptist Church, West Norwood, to come
to Barnet.
28/09/09
Work on the Manse continues. Offers of help will be much appreciated - check the
list to see what you can manage.
New external windows/doors have been ordered and we await an installation date; a
plasterer has been booked to make good the removed fireplace in the front downstairs
study and bad patches in front bedroom/stairs; the local carpet shop will shortly
visit the manse to give a firm quote/advice on carpets and/or laminate flooring;
etc etc
16/09/09
Rev Emmanuel Ntusi & his wife Zama will commence Ministry in Barnet on 1st November
2009
The Service of Induction by Rev Pat Took will be on Saturday 21st November 2009
The Manse has been vacated and we are now making plans to bring the fabric up to
scratch for Emmanuel & Zama to enjoy - any offers of help with decorating/cleanup
etc would be welcome! . Emmanuel & Zama are currently in South Africa with his sisters
who are unwell.

We will update you as soon as we can - as we get back in the swing after the holiday
break
05/08/09
We are a delighted that Rev. Emmanuel Ntusi has accepted the Call to become the Pastor
of Underhill Baptist Church. This page is intended to keep everyone updated with
the progress made in preparation for his coming to us later in the autumn.
At the moment we are preparing the way by making plans to vacate the Manse in Kenerne
Drive and get it ready ready for the arrival of Emmanuel and his wife Zama.
Give Thanks to God for our WONDERFUL visiting preachers who have sustained us during
our period without a minister.... Andrew Maynard, Vania John-Baptiste and Peter Double
- all so different but all willing to continue our walk with God together.
Note: They will all be having a well earned rest during the August break
